For you, Clwyd Theatr Cymru, Mold
FOR You, the first opera by novelist Ian McEwan and composer Michael Berkeley, lands at Mold's Clwyd Theatr Cymru next month.
It tells the story of a composer and womaniser, who meets his match in his besotted housekeeper, with tragic results.
New singers joining the cast include baritone Nicholas Folwell as protaganist Charles Frieth, mezzo Arlene Rolph as his scheming Polish housekeeper Maria, and South Wales-based soprano Gail Pearson as Charles' long-suffering wife Antonia.
For You, which opened at the Royal Opera House in London last year, is directed by Michael McCarthy and conducted by Michael Rafferty - both of whom are artistic directors of Music Theatre Wales.
The opera is a contemporary, edgy situation full of destructive desire and lives altered forever by one tragic error.
For You, Clwyd Theatr Cymru, Mold, June 2, tickets from £7, 0845 330 3565 www.clwyd-theatr-cymru.co.uk
