The Anglesey Sea Zoo is Wales' largest marine aquarium. Sited right on the shore of the Menai Strait against the stunning backdrop of Snowdonia, its a great day out whatever the weather.

At the Anglesey Sea Zoo the habitats of over 150 species found around Anglesey and the North Wales coastline have been carefully recreated. From the complexity of the inverebrates in the Bone Free Zone, your visit will take you through a Shipwreck, then onto a walk over the Shark Pool and finally onto the Big Fish Forest displaying the marine life of the open ocean.

Aquarium staff are actively involved in local and international conservation, working actively on many projects in many countries. Our only tropical displays center on this conservation work, with all other exhibits celebrating native Welsh marine life.

Our Shop has gifts to suit all ages and pockets. For that extra special something why not pick your own Pearl Oyster. Learn about how pearls form and have your pearl valued and set in a range of gold and silver jewellery. Our outdoor facilities, including Radio Controlled Boats, Aquablasta, Crazy Golf, Adventure Playground, and an enormous Octojump Bouncy Castle make Anglesey Sea Zoo a great family day out whtever the weather.

No visit to the Anglesey Sea Zoo is complete without enjoying something in the Lighthouse Cafe. You can also visit the Cafe without enjoying the Aquarium (although we think that this would be a shame), however, while fish dodging, you can also take advantage of Anglesey's Best Toy Shop!

Café and Shop

Our newly refurbished Lighthouse Cafe is the perfect place to enjoy light snack or a full meal made from local ingredients.

We source as many of our ingredients as possible from local suppliers, and for those that we do need to source from further afield, we adopt a fairtrade policy.

Particularly close to home are our free range eggs, which come from our maintenance manager or milkman, and the milkmans' wife makes our delicious Bara Brith, as well as a range of other traditional cakes.

Why not start your day with a full Welsh breakfast, all made from local produce, lunch could be a a bowl of fresh soup with a crusty roll, or even one of our daily specials such as hand dived scallops and local mussels. We have a range of healthy children's options including pasta in a homemade tomato sauce and a trasure chest containing sandwitches, a cookie, a fairtrade fruit drink, some fruit, carrot and cucumber sticks, and ..... a little present. Organic baby food is always available and we're always happy to heat your own baby food and milk on request.

Lunches and themed gourmet suppers can also be booked for groups, please contact us to discuss prices and menus.

We also produce a delicious range of butter fudge by hand on site, please ask or chef for more details. The Lighthouse Cafe is open during normal site opening hours, but if you were to arrive early you may be lucky!

We're a Great Place for an Undersea Birthday Party!

Your child will love a marine themed birthday party at the Anglesey Sea Zoo. There is a choice of two menu's available and each partygoer leaves with a party bag. The price includes a fishy birthday cake (normally not actually made with fish), entry to the aquarium, use of the party room, and of course, access to the aquarium and the play area outside, including the huge bouncy castle!

If there in anything in particular that you would like us to do to make your child's day even more special then, as always, please don't be afraid to ask! Below are links where you can download details of timings, a booking form and some sample menus, alternatively contact us by email or phone to discuss your requirements.

The Gift Shop

Anglesey's best toyshop is stuffed to the gills with all kinds of treats from simply silly to educational, plus books, jewellery and local foods for the grown ups.

Opening Times

From the beginning of Easter to at least the End of October we're open seven days a week, every week!

From 10:00am until 6:00pm, with the last entry into the aquarium at around 4:45pm.

We are very happy to open to schools and other groups by appointment on any other day or time.
