SPECIAL SCENIC TRAIN EXCURSION!
SATURDAY 23RD AUGUST - "THE NORTH WALES FELLSMAN"
HOLYHEAD (around 7am), LLANFAIRPWLL. (around 7.25am), BANGOR (around 7.35am), LLANDUDNO JUNCTION (around 8am), COLWYN BAY (around 8.10am), RHYL (around 8.25am), FLINT (around 8.40am) and CHESTER (around 9am). All times are current estimates. This one-off day excursion is entirely by direct train formed of traditional Intercity carriages, with pre-reserved seating for all passengers and a buffet counter service available throughout the journey. We return passengers home in the evening (in the same carriages).
OUR ROUTE: A circular tour running through hundreds of miles of Northern England's finest scenery with an outward run via Morecambe Bay, the Cumbrian Fells, Shap, the Eden Valley, then returning via the world famous Settle & Carlisle railway (see www.settle-carlisle.co.uk), travelling via Appleby, Ribblehead and Dent. Then finishing with a run through North Yorkshire, Pendle (and Lancashire witch country), Clitheroe, Whalley, East Lancashire and the Ribble Valley.
CARLISLE: Break of around 3 ½ hours is expected here. You'll find yourself at the centre of a stirring past and a vibrant present. In the beautiful and historic heart of the city you may choose to stroll between the castle, cathedral or indeed the Tullie House Museum - all surrounded by great places to shop (especially handy if you have any gifts still to find), eat or to be entertained.
TICKETS are available at £49 each (STANDARD CLASS - adult), £34 (child under 16 - STANDARD CLASS), £79 (FIRST CLASS - all ages) & £149 (PREMIER DINING - all ages). PLEASE NOTE: Premier Dining is an "exclusive" luxury silver service option fully inclusive of first class travel with a full multi course English Breakfast and 4-course evening dinner plus refreshments, all freshly prepared by top class gourmet chef's and served at the seat by friendly professional waiting staff (PLEASE always advise when booking Premier Class of any special dietary needs).
