Park Hall near Oswestry is the perfect choice for parents who are looking for a fun packed day out to keep the kids entertained; for not only does it offer lots of ‘hands on’ experiences with animals it also has two massive play barns where youngsters can ‘let off steam!’ With over 40,000 square feet of activities undercover, the weather is never a problem.
Easter promises to be fun with ‘The Great Egg Hunt’, where kids can hunt for eggs in the hay, and an Easter Detective Trail searching for clues around the farm. Of course lamb feeding will be well under way and this is undoubtedly one of the most popular activities on the farm. Lamb feeding will be at 12.00pm and 3.30pm each day.
Another of the big attractions for Easter is the arrival of two very special ‘woolly’ pigs. On first look you might mistake the charming curly coated Mangalitza pigs for sheep, as we are unaccustomed to seeing a pig with curls.
The farm attraction has a regular timetable of interactive activities that ensures close contact with animals. Children can groom ponies, cuddle rabbits, feed lambs ( to early Summer), hand milk a cow or visit the magnificent shires on the stable yard. Hand Milking is at 1pm each day followed by milking in the parlour at 1.15pm.
The massive indoor Main Arena with bouncy castles and pedal tractor circuit allows the kids to burn off excess energy along with the new Warren Play Barn which is a great addition to the indoor activities. Giant games can be found around the site and for younger visitors a large indoor sand pit provides plenty of digging fun.
There are lots of outdoor activities; try out the brilliant climbing adventure area in the woodland. Also outdoors is a play village for younger kids providing lots of imaginative play. The highlight of our summer activities will be the introduction of our new Crazy Farm Adventure Course. This course will have two parallel lanes, each with the same fixed obstacles, so family and friends can compete side by side to complete the course.
Walks around the woodland, lake and pastures guarantee plenty of fresh air. Jump on a cart ride to see more of the farm.
Interactive experiences are the key to Park Hall’s success. The kids won’t drive you mad here because they can take part in their own driving experiences. The Children’s Driving School is a great hit for 3-10year olds and the 4x4 off-road course, especially designed for children (6-13) enables them drive a replica Landrover Defender over a challenging terrain. .Quad bikes are also available from 6 years to adult with courses to suit all abilities.
Park Hall’s mechanical diggers are a must to try for adults and children alike, have a go at shifting shale with the highly versatile digger arms. New for 2008 will be a Water Blaster game, you won’t get wet but you can improve your aim by shooting at targets.
The motorised driving activities, diggers and water blaster game are extra cost activities.
Don’t forget there are also the wonderful museums to visit The Welsh Guards Collection or The Victorian School and Museum are open each day to look around. No extra charge.
