PORTMEIRION is open to day visitors every day of the year except Christmas Day.

Portmeirion is North Wales premier visitor attraction welcoming 250,000 visitors per annum.

This unique village is set on its own private peninsula on the southern shores of Snowdonia. It was created by Welsh architect Clough Williams-Ellis (1883-1978) to demonstrate how a naturally beautiful place could be developed without spoiling it. Portmeirion is made up of about 50 buildings most of which are used as hotel or self-catering accommodation and surrounded by 70 acres of sub-tropical woodland gardens. On the main driveway is Castell Deudraeth, a Victorian mansion restored as a brasserie style restaurant and hotel.

The village has many shops including the Portmeirion Seconds Warehouse, Y Llong gift shop, Pot Jam, Golden Dragon Books, the Prisoner Shop, & the Dome Gallery. The design led merchandise found in the shops is also available online at www.portmeirionONLINE.co.uk

The village also has several cafes including the Terrace Self-Service restaurant, Caffi'r Sgwar coffee shop, Cadwaladers Ice Cream Cafe, Caffi Glas Italian cafe, Castell Deudraeth gastropub and the Hotel Portmeirion (lunch menu and terrace menu available).

From April to October Portmeirion provides optional guided tours of the village at not extra charge. The tours are available every half hour from 10.30am to 3pm and last around 20 minutes, taking in the most important features within the village.

The Hotel Portmeirion is a four star Hotel on the coast of Snowdonia. This is now undoubtedly one of North Wales most iconic hotels. The Hotel Portmeirion was opened by Clough Williams-Ellis at Easter 1926. Castell Deudraeth is a boutique hotel on the Portmeirion estate.

Portmeirion has self-catering cottages let weekly from April to October and as short lets in Winter. To see current availability and prices click here.

Portmeirion Hotel and Castell Deudraeth have a total of 53 rooms and suites.

Portmeirion is also popular for weddings and is the ideal venue to celebrate that special day.

The romantic village of Portmeirion with it’s backdrop of Estuary and Mountains provide an ideal wedding venue setting. Portmeirion’s award winning chef creates memorable celebrations meals for special occasions in the two rosette dining room. Evening parties are held in the Hercules Hall close to the Hotel.

The Hercules Hall, the Tudor Room and Mirror Room hold Civil Wedding licences for large and small ceremonies.
