We at the Marine Hotel look forward to sharing our lovely location with you, and helping you have an enjoyable stay in Criccieth.
We have 15 en-suite bedrooms, all with t.v and tea and coffee making facilities. Most bedrooms are on the first floor, some having their own private seating areas taking in the views of the castle and sea. Hotel guests have their own private t.v lounge and sun lounge which faces the castle.
The Picture Window Restaurant offers a delicious range of 3 course and bar style meals, with an emphasis on traditional home cooking and local ingredients.
The hotel bar offers a warm and friendly atmosphere, with a real fire and sea view. The bar is open to non-residents, so talk of the local sea trout and salmon fishing can be heard.
The hotel is located opposite Criccieth Castle the remains of which are partly of Welsh and partly of English construction, and date from the reign of Llewelyn The Great(1210 - 1240). On a clear day you can see St.Davida Head in one direction, and St.Tudwalds island on the other- the whole sweep of the Cambrian coast.. Then 2 miles down the road, is Llanystumdwy, the boyhood home of Criccieths most famous son, David Lloyd George. A visit to the museum is a must, but many people like to walk along the banks of the River Dwyfor where the statesman spent his childhood years.
Criccieth itself is located on the A497, which runs between Porthmadog and Pwllhefi. Porthmadog, 4 miles awayis the centre for the FFestiniog Steam Railway, and only 2 miles from the Portmeirion Village. The town is an unspoilt seaside resort with the 13C castle dividing two south facing beaches.
