Welcome to the Glan Yr Afon Inn
Nestling in the small village of Dolphin, near Holywell and just off the A55 to Holyhead, this beautiful pub in North Wales combines both traditional and contemporary elements.
We are proud to provide simple, fresh, locally sourced, quality food accompanied by traditional ales and a comprehensive wine list. You can stay with us in our comfortable accommodation and you can hold functions and business meetings here aswell.
Come and relax with us wether you choose to sit in our restaurant, decorated with beautifully lit pictures of the Milwr Tunnel; our traditional bar areas; our Mediterranean patio or our garden overlooking the River Dee and North Wales.

Eating at The Glan
Our food is fresh, home cooked and locally sourced wherever possible. We offer a range of options from Bar Snacks to a gastro style menu all freshly cooked to order.
You can dine in the beautifully furnished restaurant or the more traditional bar areas.
Our restaurant has been completely refurbished recently and offers a relaxed contemporary style whilst displaying numerous dramatic and beautiful pictures of The Milwr Tunnel which runs hundreds of feet below you from the Halkyn Mountains to the River Dee.
Children are welcome in all of our food areas and in the summer months we serve food outside and have regular barbeques on our new Mediterranean patio.

The Glan Yr Afon Inn has long been known for serving fine, traditional ales - a reputation we aim to maintain. As a free house we offer beers and lagers from many of the excellent micro breweries that exist in Wales.
We also offer a comprehensive but affordable range of wines and spirits with expert advice on hand to assist in the selection of wine for a meal in our contemporary restaurant.
Accommodation at The Glan
We have eight nicely decorated en-suite bedrooms including a honeymoon suite with a four poster bed. Tourists and business guests enjoy a stay in a friendly and homely environment.
Having a thriving business community in the local area we provide a special alternative to the drab budget hotel chains offering great accomodation, great food and a well stocked bar all in a relaxed friendly atmosphere.

Events at The Glan
Our Function Room is used by locals celebrating special family events such as weddings, birthdays and engagements. The function room can cater for 50 seated guests when configured for partys and celebrations.
For businesses looking to hold meetings, training seminars or any other business event the Glan offers a traditional cost effective option. The function room can be configured into various seating layouts to suit the event and expected capacity.
Excellent food of the same high Glan Yr Afon standards can be pre-ordered from our tiered buffet menu or you can arrange to dine in the main restaurant to enjoy our full and frequently updated menu.
Christmas Parties are available in the Function Room ( The Estuary Bar ) through November, December and January - Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights.
