Oriel Mostyn Gallery in its present form opened in 1979 and is the largest independent publicly-funded gallery in Wales.
Its main activity is showing Welsh and international contemporary art in a programme of temporary one-person and group exhibitions, each lasting about six weeks.

Not being particularly green-fingered does not preclude even the most horticulturally challenged from enjoying a spectacular garden. And rarely do they come as spectacular as the famed Bodnant Garden in Tal y Cafn in the beautiful Conwy Valley.

Great Orme Tramway

The Great Orme Tramway, which opened on July 31, 1902, is the only cable-hauled tramway still operating on British public roads.
The view from the Great Orme's 679ft (207m) summit are breathtaking - from Snowdonia and Anglesey, all the way to to the Isle of Man, Blackpool and the Lake District.
The Orme is also a great place for walkers, with its two unique butterfly species, flowers and Kashmir goats.

Kitesurfing, as the name suggests, combines flying a kite with standing on a board. This allows you to zip around the sea and perform some incredible stunts.

Llandudno Pier

The Pier is a grade 2 listed building. It took just over a year to complete and was opened to the public in 1878.

The pier is unique as it has 2 entrances - one at the front of the promenade and one half way down at the happy valley.

It is also the longest pier in Wales stretching nearly half a mile out to sea and it won Pier of the year in 2005.

Shopping

 

Llandudno has a range of different shops, including two retail parks and a number of independents, as well as lots of cafes and restaurants. These are all in close proximity to each other.

Mostyn Street, which runs through the middle of the town, is where the smaller shops, markets and banks are located and is a pleasant place to take a stroll.

The Victoria Centre, on Mostyn Street, houses a large number of highstreet stores.

Parc Llandudno, is halfway up Mostyn Street and home to shops like Debenhams (0844 5616161), Next (0844 8445413) and BHS (0845 8410316).
Opposite is a large Asda (01492 864300).

At Mostyn Champneys retail park, next to Parc Llandudno, you will find shops like Argos (0845 1657387), Homebase (0845 6407197), and Maplin (01492 874836).

Venue Cymru attracts some of the biggest names in music, theatre and comedy to North Wales.

It consists of a theatre, conference centre and arena and is situated in the heart of the town near North shore and Mostyn Street.

The Great Orme Mine

The copper mines were discovered in 1987 and since then mining engineers, cavers and archaeologists have been uncovering what is thought to be the world’s largest prehistoric mine.
You can take a guided tour, with the highlight being the bronze age cavern, which was dug out over 3,500 years ago with nothing more than bone and stone tools.

The centre is open throughout the year from 10am -10pm and offers skiers and snowboarders of all levels the facilities to practice and learn new skills.

There are active ski and snowboard clubs at the centre where instructors are available to give you help and advice.
